A Bunny Blog Hop

A Tisket, A Tasket, Freebies for your Basket!
Several phenomenal teachers and bloggers are joining forces for an amazing bunny blog hop!  As you follow us along the bunny trail, you will visit some of your favorite blogs and discover a few new blogs too!  Each with a fabulous freebie just for you!

Thank you for hopping on over to my blog!

April is just around the corner!  I hope it brings us better weather here than it did in March!  This was a really cold, wet and sometimes snowy March here in southern Indiana!  Here is a cute little freebie for your basket that should help you think of SPRING!  This greater than/less than activity is great for math stations.  Students choose two number cards out of a baggie/box/whatever-random-teacher-hoarded-container you have (on a side note... don't teachers seem to have a million different containers/baskets?).  They can place it either on the "greater than" or "less than" mat to make a true statement.  I always try to include recording sheets in my stations/centers because it holds the student accountable for when they are working independently.  Click on the image below to go download your freebie for your basket!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting!  If you are new to my blog and liked what you see, don't forget to follow me.  A Tisket, A Tasket, next up with a Freebie for your Basket is Sally from Elementary Matters.  Hop on over!

Tell Me More Linky

It is time for another “Alliteration Link-up”.

This time we are focusing on the letter P.  (I can not believe it is almost April already.)

Here is what we want to know...

PLAYLIST- What kind of music do you play for your students?  What is on your “PLAYLIST”?  What do you use to “calm them down” or “pep them up”?
PLANT- What is your favorite PLANT?  Do you keep plants in your classroom?  How do you teach plants to your students?  Do you grow plants in your classroom?
PRODUCT-  What currently is your favorite PRODUCT?  Let’s be fair...  Choose one of your own and one of someone else.

I will begin.....

1.  PLAYLIST-  My favorite CD that I play daily during silent reading time is called Tropical Relaxation.  It is so relaxing and the kids always sigh when I turn it off.  I also like Dr. Jean’s All Day Long.  I have many of the songs from Dr. Jean’s CD on my playlist and organized in order for the morning meeting.  The kiddos need a routine and the music helps establish an easy routine for the students.  Click either picture below to link to the CD.

2.  PLANTS-  I love plants!  I currently have several spring plants in my dining room.  The Easter Lily is so beautiful!!  I always pick one up because they smell fabulous.

I also put some spring bulbs in a blue vase on my dining room table.  I have no idea how I will get the bulbs out when I am ready to plant them, but for now they look good.

I also have my son’s beanstalk.  :)  I am having trouble keeping it alive.  Coy wants to water it daily.  It is a bit over-watered.  :)

Not only do I love plants, but I have a free Plant Emergent Reader that you can grab by clicking here.

3.  PRODUCT-  I first want to promote my fellow bloggers Ladybug Math and Literacy ActivitiesStephany’s Ladybug Activities are fabulous!!

The packet includes 2 Poems, Ladybug Life Cycle Cut & Paste Activity, Label that Ladybug, 2 Venn Diagrams, Sentence Editing Activity, Measurement Activity, and MUCH MORE.  I am already excited to use it when we investigate insects.

Another product that I LOVE is Randi’s Daily Sentence Editing Packets.  I am currently using April’s Editing Sentences.  Even though they are aligned for first grade students, by kindergarteners are in the habit of completing them daily.  It has become part of our daily routine.  Randi has included more than checklist in the packet for differentiation.

AND...

I want to announce the winners of my Earth Day Literacy Unit.  The winners are...

Congratulations to Nicole at A Frenzy of Fun in 1st GradeAlicia, and  Jessica G. at Literacy Spark.  I will be emailing you the Earth Day Literacy UnitFeel free to share pictures of your kiddos working on the activities on your blog.  If you didn't win, you can still pick up your copy y clicking the link below.

Now it’s your turn!!  Share what you have on your classroom PLAYLIST.  Share what you love about PLANTS.  Last, promote one of your own products and a PRODUCT that you use on a regular basis in your classroom.

Thank you for linking up and remember to check back as we will be making this an on-going link-up.

Endless Possibilities,
Stephanie

Eggs, Plants, Earth Day & More

Our school is on spring break this week, but if we were in session, I would have definitely bought these to use in class this week!!  The eggs each have letters on them.  I would have ordered them in ABC order, sorted for vowels, sorted by color, and spelled sight words.  So, if you are out and about and looking for a last minute lesson... Go to Wal-Mart and get these "Egg-U-Cational Eggs".

It is hard to believe that it is spring, considering it is snowing as I am typing this post.  However, I am excited about teaching plants and have already created an emergent reader text to go along with the unit in April.  Best of all...  It is FREE!!  Just click the picture below to get your copy.

If you missed the post yesterday, Stephany featured her Sentence Editing Earth Day freebie.  Grab your copy below.  Just click the picture.

I also finished my Earth Day Literacy UnitIt is available for purchase in my TpT Store.  If you want a chance at getting a copy, just comment below and I will choose 3 random people to win their own copy.  Check back later this week for the winners to be announced.

Have a wonderful week!!
Endless Possibilities,
Stephanie, Stephany and Kathi

Turn out the Lights...

Did anyone participate in Earth Hour this year?  Earth Hour was held on March 23 and basically you vow to turn out your lights from 8:30pm until 9:30pm.  I have been trying to be a better person this year in terms of reducing waste and recycling.  Once I started to recycle I couldn't believe how much trash I was producing before hand that I could have simply took an extra 10 minutes once a week to drop off at the local recycling place (that happens to be 2 minutes from school).   Just yesterday morning  I literally crammed so many boxes into my car to take to recycling that I was afraid I was going to be pulled over for obstructing my view.
So in honor of Earth Day, I decided to turn out my lights.  About 15 minutes in, I started to break out in hives and have withdraw symptoms from my TV/Phone/Computer.  I "powered" through it with a walk to CVS's Redbox down the road which made me realize that CVS may be just about the brightest lit store in all of everywhere which may or may not have cancelled out my own Earth Hour contribution.  Anyway, in honor of Earth Hour, I decided to make a freebie for you all.

Also, Stephanie posted her newest Earth Day Literacy Unit.  I may be biased but her stuff rocks.  Seriously... her Dental Health Unit was a hot commodity at school in February.  I am lucky to get her stuff for free!  You can check it out by clicking on the picture below!

Have a great Sunday!

Five For Friday- March 22

We are linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for "Five for Friday" and Teaching Blog Addict for "Friday Freebie."

1.  We did our "Frog & Toad" plays today!  The kids loved it!  They have been working on reading the scripts with fluency. (Don't judge the backdrops though because they only worked on those for about 15 minutes since my concentration was on the reading fluency benefits!)
2.  Aren't these like the cutest little treats!  They are Easter baskets made with sugar cookies, icing, green coconut, jelly beans, and licorice.  One of my parents sent them in today.

3.  Speaking of jelly beans, we had a great time this week with our Jelly Bean Math Stations!  The kids loved them!
Here is a little measuring freebie to go with this pack!  Click HERE to download it!

4.  Stephanie's class made the CUTEST astronauts through directed drawing.  Here is her freebie to go along with this drawing and the writing.  So cute!  She also has a super cute emergent reader that is Common Core Aligned and goes with the space theme!  You can find them by clicking below!

5.   Wooohoooo SPRING BREAK!  I am so excited (as were the kids) that today was the last day before Spring Break!  I know that we all need it.  However, we are expecting snow on Sunday....but that won't stop me from going shopping on Monday & Tuesday!
Have a great weekend!

Five For Friday!

This week went super fast!  Only one more week until Spring Break...I can't wait to do some shopping (mini shopping trip) and get some spring cleaning done!  Here are a few things from my (our) week!  We are linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for "Five for Friday!"

fiveforfriday

1.  Leprechauns destroyed our room today.  The kids made leprechaun traps and set them out.  Charlie the leprechaun came and destroyed the room.  (You should have seen the look on the custodians face as "Charlie" was destroying the room... he must have thought "Charlie" was crazy.)  He (Charlie, not the custodian) left some ingredients to make "Shamrock Shakes."

2.  Stephanie wanted a picture for her TpT store profile.  She was seriously cracking us up after school while we were trying to get a good shot.  We all kept yelling "Stop with the eyebrows!" My favorite part is when she thought it would be totally natural to pose senior picture style next to that blue chair. She is hilarious and a good sport for letting me post these pictures.

3.  I am making more fonts to add to my Super Cute Fonts pack.  I think I could just make these all day long, especially as I watch TV.  Click on the picture below to download this one for free!

4.  I am planning on re-vamping the decor in my living room after I found these "inspiration" items.  I think I am opening up a while can of worms though and the re-vamping might spread to the whole house.  I might change my mind after a few months of that owl staring at me from my sofa table.

5.    And finally, Stephanie has a new super cute little freebie up in her store so you can head on over there to pick it up!  Click HERE (or the picture below to go grab it up!).

Here are the winners of Kathi's Graphic Organizer Pack:
