Flaschcard Freebie!

I have to admit that these were not made for school, originally.  I have a 2 year old daughter who has began to identify her letters.  Of course being a Reading Teacher, I immediately start thinking..."Ooooh! She needs flashcards to play with!" But as I made these I kept thinking of ideas and activities to do with these.  Here are some suggestions:

Flashcards for letter ID

Uppercase/Lowercase Matching

Make a CVC words then say if it is a real or nonsense word

Laminate cards and trace letters with dry erase marker

Scramble the cards and put them in ABC order

Alphabet ‘Go Fish’ with uppercase and lowercase letters

Make a CVC word and change the first letter to make rhyming words

Practice spelling words

Download them HERE...The possibilities are endless :)

Monday freebies...

We finally got rain here!  Yeah!!!!  But, along with it came a huge storm that knocked out power to about 12,000 people.   Thankfully, there was no major damage and no one was seriously injured.  I think it was just Mother Nature's way of saying "Here's your rain, now be quiet and stop complaining about me on Facebook."  (Speaking of Facebook, we finally got one and you can follow us here on Facebook!)

Here are our freebies for Manic Monday over at Classroom Freebies.

  Here is a word sort for real and nonsense words.  The kids sort the CVC words (after sounding them out) onto either a "Real" or "Nonsense" Sun!

 

 Also, here are some really cute bus tags for the first few weeks of school.  Our Kindergarten teachers use these tags to help make sure the kids get safely to the right buses.
