Spring Cleaning Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be participating in this Spring Cleaning Blog Hop with 12 other great bloggers!  We are sharing some ideas for classroom organization as the year winds down that you can hopefully use in your own classroom next year!  Plus, there is an awesome giveaway to go along with it... a TpT gift card!

Math stations are one of my students favorite parts of my day.  My math block falls in the afternoon and is interrupted by specials so it always seems to be a challenge to keep organized and on track.  On top of that I just don't have the space in my room for my math stations to be permanent areas like my 90-minute reading block.  I use tubs for my math stations.  The students grab their number of tub and take it to an area in the room to work on it.
I am always looking to save time and changing out the tubs each time we switched was time-consuming... not to mention storing all the pieces and parts to each station somewhere else (like one of my overflowing filing cabinets).
So I went to Donor's Choose and requested a ton of tubs and was fortunate enough to get them.  If you haven't signed up for Donor's Choose then go do it now!   I have gotten so much great stuff for my classroom!   They fit all of the manipulatives that the students need to complete the activities.  I know it seems like a lot to store but finding the room to store the tubs was worth the time it has saved me this year!
As I made up the tubs for each month, I labeled them with these cute number labels. (You can download the labels here from Google Docs)
All I will have to do next year is switch out the tubs and my math stations are set... no more searching through filing cabinets, finding missing pieces or trying to scramble around on the weekends to get my math stations ready!

  2. You’d definitely expect tons of papers in a classroom setup. Getting adequate number of storage boxes and filling cabinets would help you and your students in organizing their past papers, pubs, and books that you need. That would certainly make it easier for everyone, especially if they need to find a previous project or such. Thanks for sharing!
